Production and production control
After unloading, the product is tested and sorted to satisfy market requirements. Five million cubic feet of warehouse space are filled towards the end of the summer, ready for the increased demand in fall and winter.
Selected wood shavings are then mixed according to your needs, or rather those of your animals! Then a loader moves the shavings to the Top-Bedding production line where they are automatically processed and mixed one more time.
This operation ensures product uniformity, so that all the bags contained in each trailer load are of the right mixture, regardless of the format or type of shavings ordered.
The mixture is compressed under a 2,200 pounds pressure before each bag is sealed. Each machine’s output is constantly monitored to ensure quality control. The consistency and weight of Top Bedding wood shavings bags remain constant, distinguishing our product from that of the competition. All shavings used come from pre-dried wood.
After leaving the machines, wood shavings bags are checked before being loaded on trailers or pallets. Once in the trailer, the bags are checked again to ensure they are properly packed, sealed and undamaged. Products that do not meet our stringent quality requirements are removed in order to ensure our clients' satisfaction with Top-Bedding.
Frank Lareau Inc. will deliver your Top-Bedding products on pallets or load them directly on the floor. Our state-of-the-art pallet system allows us to store outside more than 500,000 bags while preserving the highest quality. Our clients can then supply themselves with Top Bedding shavings all winter long. Our pallets and plastic bags are hermetically sealed and can be kept outside without any problems.
